Bucket List

Thanks to the wonderful world of Facebook, I've been able to reconnect with old friends and relatives. One of the things I've been asked to do is make a bucket list so they can learn more about the person I am now. Here is my attempt at a bucket list:

1. God comes first in my life.

2. My family comes right after God.

3. I have a weakness for chocolate.

4. Unbelievable as it may be to some, I could stand to lose about 15 pounds.

5. I am a nonsmoker.

6. I love to write.

7. I love to read.

8. I have a total of 7 children, 2 grandchildren.

9. All 3 of my children who are of an age have attended or are attended college. Two have graduated.

10. My junior high age children attend Christian school.

11. My family and I attend Valley Baptist Church.

12. I live in Eureka, Montana.

13. I spent 10 years in California.

14. My husband is my best friend.

15. My daughter is getting married in June.

16. I dream of someday going to Australia.

17. Most days, I wish for more time.

18. I live 65 miles from the nearest Wal-Mart.

19. I live 50 miles from the nearest fast food restaurant.

20. I met the love of my life when I was 29.

21. I met the savior of my life when I was 32, took me some time to accept him.

22. I still miss my dad every day.

23. My mom is the greatest person I've ever known.

24. I have 3 brothers.

25. I didn't go to college.

26. I could fill in the next 74 lines just with blessing I've received in my life.

27. I pledge to start a blessing list.

As you can see from the number of postings I do, that time is something I don't have a lot of. I will add to this list from time to time, so please check back.

Light for My Path

Aunt Norma sent me a book for Christmas entitled "Light for My Path" and I've finally gotten the opportunity to start reading it. I recommend for any harried, stressed, feeling like you've got no time mother. The first reading I was able to do was Monday right after I got Ron and the kids off for their day. To say that it had been a rough morning would be an understatement and I was feeling very angry at the way things had gone. I opened my book and the very first pages were on anger, illuminating the point with many verses from the Bible dealing with anger. What an eye-opener. I couldn't believe it when I saw all together in one place how many verses deal with anger. It became obvious to me that the sin of anger is one that God has put some thought into and he doesn't approve. Anger has been a big issue for me for many years and every time I've thought I had it under control, it would come bubbling up again. Now, I can go to my book every time I feel anger controlling me and find peace in the verses which deal expressly with that. And it deals with every subject imaginable. What a blessing to have the verses right at hand to deal with any specific subject. Please look for this book, it is coming to mean so much to me and I'd like it to help you too. God Bless.
